How About Alternative Ingredients?

If you’re looking to switch up this 3-ingredient Banana Oat Bread, there are plenty of simple ingredient swaps to suit different dietary needs and flavor preferences.

These alternatives will still provide natural sweetness and moisture, though you may need to adjust the sweetness by adding a touch of honey or maple syrup.

For a plant-based version, swap the eggs for flax eggs (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 2.5 tablespoons water per egg) or chia eggs. If you want a nuttier flavor and extra richness, you can blend in a spoonful of almond butter or peanut butter.

To make the bread even more filling, try using quinoa flakes or almond flour instead of oats. And for those who like a little indulgence, a handful of dark chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or dried fruit can take this simple bread to the next level!

Can I use a muffin tin to bake this instead? I make it a lot, but itโ€™s tricky to cut it evenly into 12 pieces. I need accurate portions to track my calories.

I wasnโ€™t sure these three ingredients would work, but the banana oatmeal muffins came out great… Turning oats into flour was easier than I expected. I wish to show you photo of my work.
I mixed in dried cranberries and walnuts, and they added a nice texture. Iโ€™ll definitely bake these again.

I tried this bananaโ€‘oat bread with just 3 ingredients and itโ€™s shockingly goodโ€ฆ mashed 3 overripe bananas, stirred in about 2 cups oats and 2 eggs, popped in the oven at 175โ€ฏยฐC for around 25โ€“30โ€ฏminutesโ€ฆ came out soft, moist and naturally sweet. No sugar or flour, just simple stuff ๐ŸŒ

I topped mine with chopped walnuts before baking and a sprinkle of cinnamon- gave it a nice crunch and warmth without messing up the easy factor. Friend said it tastes like cake but lighter.

One tip: make sure bananas are really ripe-spotty or brown ones bring sweetness and good moisture. If you want smoother texture, blend everything in food processor first. Turned out moist but not gummy.
